KINGS OF PERGAMON. Eumenes I, 263-241 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 17.14 g, 1 h), 255/0-241. Laureate head of Philetairos to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΕΤΑΙΡΟΥ Athena enthroned left, resting her left elbow on shield and crowning dynastic name with a wreath held in her right hand; in background, spear; to outer left, ivy leaf; in inner left field, Α; to right, bow. SNG Paris 1610-5. SNG von Aulock 1356-7. Westermark Group IVA. Beautifully toned and with a bold and impressive portrait. Minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.

From an old Swiss collection, formed in the 1970s and privately purchased from Numismatica Arethusa (with original ticket).
